Over the last couple of years, I came to realization that it’s important to pay attention to our dreams. All kinds of dreams. The night time ones, when our controlling mind rests and our conscious is free to roam between the stories and images that it desires. Day dreams, when life stops for a moment and we catch a glimpse of the future that is so close that we can touch it if we want. Childhood dreams, the ones where we grow up and become completely free to do whatever we want. Remember those?
It’s interesting that the same word (dreaming) is used in English to describe all these phenomena. But there are at least two in my language. Сон (pronounced, ‘sawn’) signifies a night time dream, whereas мечта (pronounced, ‘mechta’) means a dream into the future. There could be different attitudes to these types of dreaming. Oftentimes, the second one is valued more than the first. People trust their awaken mind more. But different situations require different strategies.

Night time dream is like a cat exploring an empty room. It moves slowly with grace and caution. It uncovers the territory that may be unfamiliar yet has a special meaning to our resting mind. If scared, it retreats into a dark space under the couch waiting for the room to become quiet again. When I work with a night time dream, I pay attention to the most strange part of the dream, something that provides a door, an entry into the world of under currents and unspoken desires.

Speaking about goals in life, I encourage people to dream big. As big as the largest plane in the world called Mriya (dream in Ukrainian). Recently, it was destroyed by the Russian army, but the Ukrainians vowed to rebuild it. I have no doubt that they will succeed.
